Human Made’s collaboration with Brooklyn Machine Works and Girls Don’t Cry will be released on the Human Made Online Store and at W-Base bicycle shop (Shibuya, Tokyo) at 11:00am (JST) on Thursday, May 5.
Founded in 1996 in Brooklyn, New York, Brooklyn Machine Works (BMW) rose to prominence and became highly sought-after in Japan in the late 1990s and 2000s. For this collaboration, Human Made and BMW have joined forces with Girls Don’t Cry, the signature project of graphic artist Verdy.
The centerpiece of the collection is the HMxBMWxGDC COMPLETE BMX BIKE (complete build), which features a unique design with a different color on each side.Each and every part has been carefully selected, while the addition of an original sticker set, designed by Verdy and featuring 8 pieces with 4 designs, allows the frame to be customized with ease. The bike is available in two colorways and very limited quantities for each colorway, with the red-white model exclusive to the Human Made Online Store and the black-white model exclusive to W-Base.
In addition to the BMX, the three-way collaboration includes a graphic T-shirt, cap and messenger bag. Each item features graphics developed by Verdy exclusively for the collection.
A special movie was also produced to mark the release of this special collaboration and features world-class flatland BMX rider Yohei Uchino and W-Base staff Marco. Please see the video ( here ).
