Appointment of VERDY as Creative Partner of HUMAN MADE Inc.

HUMAN MADE Inc. (headquarters: Shibuya-Ku, Tokyo; Representative Director CEO, COO: Rei Matsunuma), the company behind the lifestyle brand HUMAN MADE, is excited to announce the appointment of graphic artist VERDY as Creative Partner of the Company.

Causing a stir with his iconic projects Girls Don’t Cry and Wasted Youth, and his signature character Vick, VERDY’s activities are not limited to Japan—they span across the globe. NIGO first met VERDY when his collaborations with overseas brands and projects in Japan were taking off. He immediately became involved in designing graphic t-shirts for the album I KNOW NIGO, co-produced by NIGO and Pharrell Williams. Since then, VERDY’s creations have risen in popularity through his various collaborations, including with HUMAN MADE, KENZO and JINS.

VERDY’s appointment aims to further enhance and sustain the value of HUMAN MADE. His creativity and sensibility, which have driven his popularity in Tokyo’s streetwear scene, especially among the younger generation, will bring new energy into future creative projects to achieve the Company’s mission, “Born from creative inspiration, made with heart and humanity.”

■Comment from VERDY

I’ve admired NIGO since I was a kid, and he has inspired me countless times during our many projects together. NIGO’s commitment to the details of HUMAN MADE creations is astounding and a testament to his knowledge about other items—learned from looking at them, taking them in his hand and studying the smallest detail, such as the feel of the fabric and the stitch on the lining.
As a brand that brings new ideas to life by those who appreciate the true value of an item, I look forward to exploring the possibilities of HUMAN MADE and sharing them with the world.
It is an honor to be Creative Partner of HUMAN MADE. I am excited to see what the future holds for us.
